After School Enrichment
Beginning Monday, April 24, RCDS will be offering a six-week mini session after-school enrichment programs in a variety of subjects. Registration is limited and these classes are open to RCDS students and students from neighboring schools in our community. Classes will take place at RCDS 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm, Monday through Thursday and 12:45pm-1:45pm on Fridays will be taught by RCDS faculty and guest instructors*.
Tuition for all Spring After-School Enrichment Courses will be $225.00. Please see below for more specific details. Financial Aid is available for qualified applicants. Please direct questions to afterschool@rcds.org
*Please note all RCDS employees, staff, and guest instructors have completed a background check.
Introduction to Machine SewingMondays - 3:45 - 4:45 pm Learn to Sew on a Sewing Machine! This beginner sewing class will be an introduction to machine sewing. Chess - ExperiencedMondays - 3:45 - 4:45 pm This Chess program is designed for experienced players and will evolve as the skill level of the players evolves. Shutterbugs: Photography for Kids

Tech TuesdaysTuesdays - 3:45 - 4:45 pm Students joining Ms. Feldman for Tech Tuesdays will learn electronics and programming the fun way while building a computer with a Piper Computer kit. Follow a real engineering blueprint to assemble a self-contained computer. Knitting for Beginners

April 26 - May 31 Grades: 2nd grade and above Children will learn how to knit! It is a hobby that can last a life-time! Available for students in Grades 2 and up. Art Sparks!Thursdays - 3:45 - 4:45 pm Students will explore how art illuminates & brightens up the world that we live in. We will create art inspired by the impressionist painters and their studies of light, looking to nature for inspiration. Students will use materials to explore color, light, and shadow. Students will have the opportunity to create a stained glass mosaic, a painting on canvas using acrylics, and work with pastels and collage materials to explore these themes.
