Dining

Our school has some very special traditions -- one is the way we dine together.  At RCDS, lunch is served family-style in our Dining Room, with a teacher or administrator at every table.  Students always have a place where they belong at lunch time; to reinforce our sense of community, we mix children of all ages together and assign them to lunch tables for eight-week periods.   They also help to wait on tables and good manners are observed. Our food service offers a variety of nutritious choices prepared to satisfy many tastes and dietary needs.  (For example, our kitchen uses no nuts or nut products.)   Daily soup, salad, fruit, yogurt, and vegetarian choices round out the menu.  Children are also given enough time to eat; thirty-five minute lunch periods allow all of us to relax, make friends, and enjoy the good food and conversation.

If you have any questions about our food service, please contact Chef Nick Cittadino, Food Service Director, at ncittadino@rcds.org.
