Entering Grades:

Math

The RCDS math department believes that summer math work should provide an opportunity for students to remain engaged in mathematics while maintaining their problem solving and basic computation skills.

Students entering 5th grade:

Mrs. Harrison has created a packet that will be distributed the last week of school. Students and parents may also access the packet on her website. This work is for summer enrichment.

Students entering 6th grade:

Mrs. Harrison has created a review packet that will be distributed the last week of school. Students and parents may also access the packet and directions on her website. It would be in their best interest to sit down for a short period of time once or twice a week throughout July and August. The completed packet should be returned the first day of school to the student’s new teacher.

Students entering 7th and 8th grades:

The math department has designed a program that provides a set of problems per week for a period of six weeks. The first set will be available the first week of July on the student’s previous teacher’s website. Students may complete the “sets of problems” whenever they wish. We hope, however, that they do not wait until the very end of summer to complete them. It would be in their best interest to sit down for a short period of time once or twice a week throughout July and August. All work should be returned the first day of school to the student’s new teacher.
