“The legacy of this beautiful Academic Center would not be possible without the vision, generosity and hard work of all the people who participated in this campaign.”
– Maggie Riker
Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our 2007-2011 Capital Campaign and the construction of our new William I. Riker Academic Center, or as it has become affectionately known, “Riker Hall.”
This extraordinary new space is remarkable, the perfect embodiment of our campaign motto, “Celebrate Tradition, Embrace our Future.” The design message comes across loud and clear. Combining our traditional gabled rooflines with the shapes of many subsequent additions, the exterior design of Riker Hall unites our past, present, and future into one cohesive whole. It’s just plain beautiful.
We thank President Joe Clark and the RCDS Board of Trustees, Campaign Chairs Bill Riker and John Ketterer and their Campaign Cabinet, and our many generous donors. Our donors have presented this school with an extraordinary gift that will be enjoyed by generations of teachers and students – far into the future.
Chad B. Small
Headmaster
Dear Friends,
In 2007, we embarked on an ambitious journey involving changes to our campus master plan, renovations to current spaces, and the construction of the William I. Riker Academic Center. The undertaking required a bold vision, determination, and confidence that our school community would come together in support of the transformational plan. Together, we contributed over $9 million dollars for the benefit of current students and generations of RCDS students yet to come, surpassing expert expectations.
I’d like to thank the members of the Board of Trustees for their stewardship throughout this important phase in the school’s history, Headmaster Small for his leadership, the Capital Campaign committee and volunteers for their tireless efforts, and each and every donor whose contributions enabled us to make this dream become a reality. The amount of time, talent and treasure expended throughout the Campaign is a tribute to the deep-rooted respect and love we all have for The Rumson Country Day School.
Thank you for your support of our school mission - you have made a difference in the lives of our young people and cemented a legacy for future generations of RCDS students.
Joseph P. Clark
President, RCDS Board of Trustees (2006-2011)
