Planned Giving
Planned Giving is an effective and mutually beneficial way of giving to The Rumson Country Day School. By making a planned gift, you assist RCDS in its mission, while enjoying the benefits of capital gains tax savings, increased income, and income tax savings. Most importantly, a planned gift maximizes your giving potential while ensuring your future financial security and that of your loved ones.
RCDS welcomes gifts through bequests or pension funds, as well as paid-up life insurance, real estate, gifts through an IRA, or 401(k). Anyone who notifies The Rumson Country Day School of a planned gift becomes a member of The Legacy Society and will be recognized accordingly in the Annual Donor Report.
The Legacy Society
In 1996 The Rumson Country Day School established a society to recognize donors who have informed RCDS that they have made provisions for the school in their estate plans. Called The Legacy Society, it includes all contributors of planned gifts to the School. To join this very special group, you may:
- Add a codicil to your will, naming RCDS as a recipient of a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your net estate after all taxes and expenses are paid.
- Name RCDS as either the full beneficiary or co-beneficiary of a current retirement policy or life insurance policy that you may own personally or a policy that you receive through your employer.
- Name RCDS as a co-beneficiary in a pension plan you have at work. You simply call your life insurance agent or your employer's Human Resource Department to make these changes.

Your membership in this special society involves no dues, obligations or further solicitations, however it does allow us to recognize you for the plans you have made, and for your gift to potentially inspire others.
